For Sale From the imagination of my father LEWIS C BENNETT Come two limited edition prints (850 copies). They are signed and numbered by the artist, printed on 300gm acid-free paper using light-fast inks Both large prints are very colourful and highly detailed. Awayday, a steam train in a busy railway station Awayday Image size 49 x 32 cm 19¼ x 12½ inches This limited edition print shows a wonderful cross-section of life portrayed in a crowded railway station. For example, look at the lad running towards his grandparents or the little girl crying. She has dropped her ball on the track and Mr. Porter won't get it for her because he's frightened of the rat hidden in the recess under the platform. There is something new to see every time you look at the picture.
The Fairground Image size 55 x 34.5 cm 21½ x 13½ inches The detail in this limited edition print is exceptional. Like all Lewis Bennett's work it is entirely from his imagination. Most of the names shown represent people important in his life. He always liked to include animals in his paintings and had a great eye for detail, even to the rubbish left behind outside the fence. A real treasure for all those who knew and loved the old-fashioned fairgrounds. My Father won a Silver Cup, presented by the Mayor of Havering, I have added this last section to my web site as I feel it is linked with keeping alive video memories from the past. My Father died in 1995 and I feel that his paintings keep both his memories and those of that era alive. Unframed prints can be purchased for £36.00 each P/P £6.95 (price for UK postage) Copyright © Lewis C. Bennett. January 2006.
